Quality

Different assays are available for many of the health tests that we offer at DNA Tests Direct. Hence, variation is normal between laboratories that utilize different assays to the validated and approved assays available at DNA Tests Direct. For this reason, we do not recommend changing between different laboratories for serial testing.

DNA Tests Direct follows strict validation and approval criteria to ensure that all of our health test assays are providing results at an acceptable level of precision.

Hours of operation for the office are Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm PST. The laboratory has extended hours so it is open past 5pm on weekdays. The receiving department is open from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and will also accept shipments on Saturday.

Processing begins immediately once the samples arrive at the laboratory. You can track the status of your test from your secure online account 24/7 at www.dnatestsdirect.com. You will be notified once your samples arrive at the laboratory and you will also be notified as soon as your test is complete.

The turnaround time for our tests depend on the type of test being performed. Please see the below list for the estimated testing times of our tests, calculated from the day after the laboratory receives your sample(s).

  • STD Health Tests: 1-3 business days
  • DNA Relationship Tests: 1-3 business days
  • Other DNA Tests: 4-6 weeks or more

Once the laboratory finishes processing your test, your results will be available for download at www.dnatca.com/login.

Please note that delays may occur during peak season. In addition, the #1 priority of the laboratory is the quality of the testing and the absolute accuracy of the results. The estimated turnaround times cannot be guaranteed if an exception is encountered, and the laboratory will not under any circumstances sacrifice the quality of the test in order to speed up the turnaround time. If additional testing is required, the test may take longer than the times indicated above.

A copy of the Results Report will be delivered to you once the test is complete. You can choose to have the results sent by mail, email, or both. You can also check the status of your test online and receive results securely and discreetly using your Case # and password.

The home test kit is quick and simple to use and contains fully illustrated instructions. The kit contains everything you need to collect the sample quickly and discreetly from the privacy of your own home. The sample is collected by rubbing swabs gently inside the mouth for 10 seconds. After the collection, the swabs are placed into the specimen containers provided in the kit and mailed back to the laboratory using the pre-addressed envelope provided in the kit. Once the laboratory receives your samples, testing begins immediately and the results are available in 1 to 2 business days. The results will indicate conclusively whether the tested man is the true biological father of the child.

The private home kit is intended for individuals who need to determine the truth about paternity before taking the next step. If you need to use the results in court, you should choose the $255 Court Admissible DNA Kit, or the $255 Legal DNA Test. The main difference between the private test and the court recognized test is the witnessing of the collection. For results to be accepted in court, the collection process must be witnessed and verified by an unbiased witness. The Court Admissible Home Kit contains all required witnessing documents. The Legal DNA Test includes a lab appointment for witnessing by our laboratory staff. Both are acceptable for use in court.

When calculating the estimated processing time for your test order, please note that weekends and holidays are not considered business days.

All patient samples are appropriately disposed of after completion of the requested test and generation of an accurate result.

Our laboratory takes extreme measures in safeguarding your personal data to guarantee your privacy. Orders, Shipping and Payment

The shipping information on file cannot be changed once the test kits have been shipped. If you would like the test kit to be re-shipped to a different shipping address, please contact our Customer Support Team and our representatives will be able to assist you directly.

Our DNA test kits can be shipped to most countries across the world. To inquire about the countries we ship to, as well as international shipping fees, please contact our Customer Support Team with your desired shipping address. Our representatives will be happy to assist you directly.

If you have misplaced your return shipping envelope, please contact our Customer Support Team with your Order ID# or activation code. One of our representatives will be happy to assist you directly.

If you shipped your samples using the included prepaid shipping return label, your samples will arrive at the laboratory within approximately 5-7 business days. You will be notified by email and/or SMS as soon as the laboratory receives your samples.

Yes. For orders placed online, please state "discreet packaging" in the comments section of the order form. If "discreet packaging" is requested, the test kit will ship out in a plain non-branded package with “swabs and documents” listed as the package description. If "discreet packaging" is not requested at the time of the order, the kit and report will ship out in our regular mailing envelope.
